If you have any questions on the Ultima 3: A New Exodus mod, find any bugs in the mod, or if you complete the mod, please let me know! Copyright notice I have not yet completed playtesting the mod, but I do not believe that there are any showstopping bugs. Ultima iii exodus download download#While it's a rather fantastic boast, I yet believe that once you play A New Exodus, you will never want to go back to the stock version! Visit the A New Exodus downloads page to download the current version. Ultima iii exodus download mod#As with many of my other modifications for games, this mod serves to provide better distinctions between the 11 classes and 5 races, and combine the following: balance between character concepts, a smoother gradation in level of difficulty, interesting character development, balance Sosaria's scalable monsters with desirable level up features, and in so doing minimize Ultima 3's "annoyance factor". Not only this, but every class has exactly the same HP totals, and increasing levels actually hampered the party's chance of survival as Sosaria's monstrous denizens were made to scale to the most powerful adventuring character's level.Īnd so, you might see the reason I created A New Exodus. When you are almost universally advised by players to avoid certain character classes (Alchemist, Barbarian, Illusionist, and even the Druid comes to mind) because they simply don't stack up, then you've failed in balancing your character development system properly. The class concept was implemented in a completely broken sort of way, as if it was added as an afterthought (and I'd be totally inclined to believe this if each class didn't have its separate cool-looking avatar). Surely this could keep any character development nerds happy, right? Ultima iii exodus download series#Character development, which is of course my favorite aspect of RPGs, while not completely ignored by Ultima was not the forte of games in the series (especially up until Ultima Underworld).īut, of the early Ultimas, the third installment, Exodus, I think had the best potential. The emphasis of Ultima's creators has always been the complexity of the game world (hence their slogan "We create worlds"). A series that always has attempted to give a wide amount of leeway to players wanting to immerse themselves in a deep and engaging world. Ultima 3: Exodus for Nintendo Entertainment System Wizardry 1st Trilogy SNES Rebalancing Mod.Destiny of an Emperor NES Ludmeister's Remix.Final Fantasy 1 and 2 GBA Mod of Balance.Final Fantasy 5 Advance Custom Classes Mod.I don't care much for using Ultima as a subtitle, but this was fixed in the later Japanese releases which retcon the box with Ultima IV logo. I really like this art it's striking and well-detailed, and conveys a strong fantasy theme. Unearthly fires erupt from his cupped hands. It was painted by Denis Loubet in 1983 and features a demonic looking monster perched on a rock above a smoldering lava pit. I haven't played the game enough to review it, although from playing around with various ports, I find the Commodore 64 version to be the best.Īll regions and ports use this box art except for the NES/MSX2 port. I own two copies of the Ultima Collection, so I own two DOS ports of the game. However, after seeing that the game had such low fidelity, the DOS port is especially bad, and learning that it's essentially a grindfest, I never really became interested enough to play it. I loved the NES port a lot, but it wasn't until the 2000s that I bought a copy of the DOS port of Ultima III: Exodus in the Ultima Collection bundle. My first experience with this game comes from the NES port, Ultima: Exodus, which has a fair amount of differences, so I've put it in it's own page.
