![]() ![]() ![]() #Macspice for windows software#We do have some areas or business software needs that dictate one over the other, but for most it is their choice. We give most new-hires their choice between the two. Just from my own standpoint- we use both. The real question is, "Windows or MacOS (or Linux)?" In summary, the question should never be asked, "Mac or PC?" It's a red herring. The only other difference then is in the quality of the hardware, which as I mentioned in another post can be had for roughly the same price in a PC platform. Ever since the demise of the IBM G5, Apples have THE SAME CHIPSET as Windows PCs, which is why Macs can run Windows in a variety of solutions with minimal performance penalty. So much confusion and falsehoods about this question derives from conflating the hardware question with the Operating System one. I run Parallels if I need apps that are Windows specific. OF COURSE you can do work with it!! I being a sys admin have been working on a Mac most of my career, which has been a long one. Your statement about having to do no work and therefore considering a Mac shows you have absolutely no experience with the Apple OS. That makes no sense and I cannot imagine a corollary that fits. I don't know what you mean about a good smooth road or detours. Maybe some people do, but not many businesses. When I buy a computer, I don't buy a corporate image. I don't know what I was thinking I'm still a truck kinda guy. If I had to do no work with a computer and only surf the web, edit photos and make music then I'd probably get a Mac. Made to do work and be compatible with the majority of business / corporate environments. Windows is more like a Chevy / Ford Pickup truck. ![]() They certainly do make quality products as long as you're on good smooth road and don't need to detour. Apple has built it's image and user experience to be a gilded - gated community - members only kinda feel like a BMW or Saab. ![]()
