Joe is survived by: his parents, Dennis and Brenda Barnes, brother Nick and nieces Blaise and Charlcie, brother Luke and wife Aimee and nieces and nephews Ethne, Emeline, Egan, Abree, Avabelle, Remmie, and Brax, brother Ben and wife Suzanne and nephew Ford and niece Caroline, grandmother Patricia Schaub, uncle David Charles, and aunt Cheryl Alperin. He seized every opportunity to share his faith, be it with a business associate, a delivery person, a waiter in a restaurant, or people he met at his country club. He served on the parking lot team, led Bible studies, and served as a greeter. He was a faithful leader of a small group and delighted in the friendships he formed with his fellow believers. He was a bondservant of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and had worshipped at the downtown campus of The Austin Stone. He was chivalrous, a defender of the underdog, and was intimidated by nothing or no one. He loved people and generously gave his time and resources in service to them. He invested in people, both strangers and loved ones. Joe treasured his numerous deep friendships that continued until the day he died. He played soccer at The Master’s University and pursued various entrepreneurial endeavors in his professional life. He loved hunting, fishing, watersports, and golfing. He was a patriot and loved our country and those who served to protect our freedom. Joe was a true Renaissance Man an avid painter who focused his artistic skill on painting flags. The four Barnes Boys, bonded by unbreakable affection. Joe was part of a brotherhood with Nick, Luke, and Ben. He loved his family and was the best uncle to his 11 nieces and nephews. He loved his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He died in Austin, TX on Saturday, June 12th, 2021 in a motorcycle accident.
